Every Australian Counts, a campaign lobbying for and supporting the introduction of DisabilityCare, has decided to run a national day of action to pressure on both major political parties to keep their promises regarding the scheme. Scheduled for one day before the election, 6 September, Every Australian Counts encourages people to organise a morning tea, picnic or party in the community to highlight the groundswell of support the proposed scheme enjoys. People interested in taking part can register to receive an action pack, and if wished make their events visible and accessible to the public.
