Every one of their policies is divisive, class based and elitist - TopicsExpress

Every one of their policies is divisive, class based and elitist in the true sense of the word, not in the reverse-meaning sense the Right like to bandy that word about. Its us and them all the way. Interestingly, their darling HSU whistleblower, Kathy Jackson, whose accusations helped justify the current TURC (Trade Union Royal Commission) is finally coming under scrutiny herself in the commission. Evidence that is at last coming out about her own behaviour as a HSU manager makes former Lab politician Craig Thomsons misuse of union funds look like peanuts. Blogger Peter Wicks, who has intensively investigated the HSU scandal and Thomson, coined the moniker Jacksonville for the alternate reality world of entitlement these corrupt HSU officials appear to live in. The thought of people like Jackson sitting on Superannuation boards is worrying. It would seem from the ICAC hearings that there are piggies with their snout in the trough from both sides of politics who live in Jacksonville. While I strongly support the trade union institution itself as the fundamental right and necessity for workers to have a collective voice, and the TURC is clearly a political vendetta, it really is a mystery why there havent been more stringent auditing and reporting requirements in place to ensure the responsible use of membership fees by union managements. Money and power corrupts. See comments below for links to investigation and current reports on HSU scandal by Peter Wicks.
