Every problem has a root cause and treating surface issues only - TopicsExpress

Every problem has a root cause and treating surface issues only prolongs the problem. My instructor in a Root Cause Analysis class told a story about a problem with a national monument that kept getting pooped on by birds. For years they just washed it off, then they determined that the birds where there because there were bugs and the birds were eating the bugs, so they sprayed for bugs and that would solve the problem for a couple of weeks. Later they decided to keep the lights that shined over the national monument turned off at night and that finally solved the problem and got rid of the bugs and birds/crap. There are definitely equality problems in America that need to be addressed. However, burning down a town and acting a fool over Mike Brown is not treating a problem, but making things worse. Besides, if I were going to pick a case to bring attention equality problems in America, it would not be this case. Brown thought it was ok to rob a store and push the owner around, then wouldnt listen to a cop when asked to get out of the street. Then, allegedly (the prior two sentences dont help his credibility) punched a cop and tried to take his gun. If I were looking for a root cause here I would have to point at parenting and the enviornment that he grew up in that made him think it was ok to do those things. Lets get these problems fixed by getting to the real problems and not blamming each other and pointing fingers. I dont look at color, I look at facts and if you do that how do you honestly say that Mike Brown was innocent? Trayvon was minding his own business and was profiled by a guy trying to be a neighborhood hero. Brown was a bully who thought he was above the law and was killed by someone doing thier job. MLK had a dream, and I can assure you that Ferguson wasnt what he envisioned in in his dream. #oneamerica
