Every so often, Allah reminds us of the value of time and how - TopicsExpress

Every so often, Allah reminds us of the value of time and how quickly it is passing. Over the past few weeks, Ive been reminded on a number of occasions. Yesterday, I started working on the schedule for Ramadan TV. It was such a surreal moment as all the memories of RTV 2013 flooded back and how I worked on that very same schedule, on the very same laptop for what felt like only days a go. SubhanAllah. Im sure you can think of many instances yourselves. The saying: Time flies seems to be repeated often nowadays. The following hadeeth came to mind: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Hour will not begin until time passes quickly, so a year will be like a month, and a month will be like a week, and a week will be like a day, and a day will be like an hour, and an hour will be like the burning of a braid of palm leaves.” Do we truly value our time? Are we really making the most out of it? If we think back and look at just the past month, can we really say that we made the most of it? That we didnt waste time with trivial matters? Most importantly, would we be able to answer Allah for the way we spent this time? As Im writing this, Im asking myself these questions and the answers hurt… One of the shortest surahs in the Quran also happens to be one of the most powerful and concise with regards to this subject. Brothers and sisters, please do take out a few minutes right now to read the tafseer of Surah Al-Asr by visiting: linguisticmiracle/tafsir/asr May Allah put barakah in our time and the way we spend our time.
