Every time I work for Marthas Catering, there is tons of good food left over, as well as heavy duty plastic dishes, napkins, whole stacks of plastic cups, straws, etc. All unused, packages just opened. What happens? It gets thrown out. What do I do? I start turning those bowls into makeshift Tupperware. I use plastic bags as Saran Wrap for the pans. On any night, I literally fill my car with more stuff than a good portion of people on this planet will ever be able to afford. I understand time is precious, but me boxing up food because I dont believe in wasting it, or keeping plastic spoons because I dont want them in some landfill isnt a crime. Im not weird. Im not a hoarder. Im certainly not greedy. I always offer to pack stuff up for others first. Im just doing the logical thing, because its free food that I could never afford, and I cant afford to contribute to destroying our soil with plastic waste.
