Everyday, we are faced with decisions: to do what is right, be - TopicsExpress

Everyday, we are faced with decisions: to do what is right, be just, help others and make someone happy. Or do and be the opposite. Sometimes, in the process of us making these decisions, even with the right intentions, we still commit mistakes. Perhaps we failed to foresee the impact of our actions. Our emotions may have clouded our objectivity. Or maybe we thought we were doing the right thing but in reality, our better judgment wasnt really what was needed and what would help the situation. However, despite all of these, what is important is that we learn. But even more important is that we seize the opportunity to put these learnings and realizations into actions. I often hear and use this quote - I am only responsible for my own words and actions, not how you choose to interpret them. While it still holds a lot of truth, allow me to bend this a little bit today. Let me say it this way instead: While you can choose to interpret things the way you see fit, I still need to be responsible (and mindful of) my own words and actions. We can never control what and how other people would think. But we can certainly manage and adjust our own actions and behavior to influence how others perceive us without sacrificing our principles and respecting the integrity of our character. These things said, today, let us choose to move forward and be better than who we were yesterday. Have a great weekend!
