Everyone has a job to do This morning I got on the train with a valid off-peak ticket , the inspectors checked my ticket at the station and let me onto the platform. I sat in my seat and then another ticket inspector appeared walking down the train carriages checking tickets, I proudly presented what I thought was my valid ticket to him and in bewilderment he said to me I have to get off the train and catch the next train directly after otherwise hell fine me £160, I then proceeded to ask why?? its off-peak time now anyway and it makes no sense to get off the train to wait for the next one. If I was my old train jumping/hiding in toilets self back in the day I wouldve began to devise a plan of how to stay on the train and escape him lol but those days are looong gone now, however I realised something I never thought about when I was a kid: this is his job!! and he should be respected like anyone else wants to be in their chosen field, this is where he feels value!! so as a result of this thought I didnt argue and proceeded to get off the train, he came out of his carriage and looked left and right to make sure i listened to him and got off at that stop, i could see the fact that I listened to him really made his day, he felt he did a job well done. However inconvenient it was for me it was nice to see that I helped him feel self value in that moment. the next train was packed like a sardine tin though but hey ho!! may seem a little weird that Im writing this considering my occupation(irony) but i thought so what ill tell it!!
