Evoque Nightclub Preston: I can now inform you that Rebel - TopicsExpress

Evoque Nightclub Preston: I can now inform you that Rebel Marketing & Promotions Ltd. will no longer be working with Evoque Nightclub, Preston. The general manager of Evoque, Zane Woods, unexpectedly issued Rebel with a 2 week notice of termination of contract on the 27th of August without giving cited reason for the decision. I found it unusual we be brought in to target the student audience, yet be removed from post before the students return in September. It later became apparent that secret, behind closed doors meetings had been taking place, whilst we were still under contract, between the general manager of Evoque, Darren Ofsarnie and Francis Faldoun of Future Clubnights and U.N.I. promotions companies, which we feel is unacceptable, unsavoury and does not meet up to the required level of business practice and integrity we ask of our business associates and that we practice ourselves. I am also very aware that my own reputation and that of my business and staff is very important, and also wish to distance ourselves from the ‘alternative’ unofficial fresher’s line-up that Mr Ofsarnie and Faldoun are promoting. We wish to do this primarily because of the nature in which it has been falsely promoted as ‘UCLan official’, when in fact it has no official status or links to UCLan and I personally believe is nothing more than an attempt to cash in on the new student population, without offering any guarantees of quality or student welfare, and are aware that legal advice has been sought, therefore we wish to clarify that Rebel had no involvement in its planning or execution. The entire experience has been stressful for myself and my staff, however we are pleased to inform you of 5 new events we will be promoting, which will be announced later today and throughout the week. My intent behind this announcement is to clarify any rumours that may be circulated. We have not left due to performance issues, competency or through any fault of our own, we have left due to the poor business practice and questionable integrity of other parties. We had hoped the days of secret meetings whereby secret deals are cut, were a thing of the past in licensed industry, however it appears that some still feel the need to do so to obtain work, as opposed to proving their worth through their ability and reputation, as I believe is best practice and morally correct. Personally, and as a business, we have no issues with Luminar, the company that owns Evoque, and wish to work with them in the future, however we cannot foresee a time when we would work with current general manager of the venue, and look forward to his moving on. Any questions, comments or response to this statement can be done so via personal message or to [email protected] Regards, Jack Barron Managing Director Rebel Marketing & Promotions Ltd.
