I get to talk about the systemic failures, the systemic power dynamics of the mass media and indoctrination in the larger social context. This is one of the few programs where the structural causes of the failure to build humane and honest international relations can be discussed. Nothing is more important than to go beyond the sensational story of the day-- the gun crazies in southern California or Kiev--- to talk about the violence inherent in the global corporate-capitalist system, and in particular how the corporations, masquerading as news outlets, can produce a sea of lies without so much as a twitch of an eyebrow.
