Exciting news! Were pleased to announce that the Chief Adjudicators for Camp will be Ryan Thalari from Macquarie University and Vincent Chiang from The Australian National University! --- Ryan Thalari, Macquarie University Pop culture aficionado Ryan Thalari (a.k.a. “The man in the velvet blazer who isn’t Vincent Chiang”) is the wallflower of the Australian debating circuit, having attended over 50 tournaments in less than 4 years, including 4 Easters, 3 Australs and 2 Worlds. He is yet to receive perks. As a debater, Ryan has been a Top 5 Speaker at UTS Pre-Australs (2014) and the UOW Mini-Gong (2012), Semi-Finalist and Top 10 Speaker at Mac Mini (2012), and a Grand Finalist and Top 10 Speaker at the Wollongong One Night Stand (2013). Ryan has adjudicated the Grand Finals of Sydney Open, ANU Grand Slam, USU BP Novice, The UWS Open, and most importantly The Triwizard Debating Tournament. He was also a Co-CA of Camp last year, so he knows what he’s doing (in theory at least). His depth and level of experience, combined with over 4.5 years of studying psychology, makes Ryan highly qualified to judge you. And debates. --- Vincent Chiang, The Australian National University Also known as “The man in the velvet blazer”, Vincent Chiang is one of the most huggable debaters you will ever meet, and one of the few debaters who can match Ryan’s inexplicable dedication (read: over-commitment) to attending tournaments. Vincent has debated in the Octo-Finals of Easters, the Semi-Finals of Sydney Open and ANU Fall, and most impressively is a Grand Finalist and Top 10 Speaker at the Triwizard Debating Tournament. And that was all just this year… As an adjudicator, Vincent has broken at Sydney Pre-Australs, ADAM, Mac Mini, Melbourne Mini, Mac Fall, and the Kuala Lumpur Open Challenge, so rest assured, he’ll have no problems judging you (as a person and a debater). The level of experience Vincent will bring to his role as Co-CA is surpassed only by the awesomeness of his rendition of Confrontation from Jekyll and Hyde. --- Dont forget that registration is now open, and will close July 17.
