Executive Director Job posted by: Inspiration Community Posted on: February 19, 2014 Job description Inspiration Consciousness School seeks a full-time Executive Director beginning in April 2014. Inspiration is a pioneering and visionary organization whose mission is to promote personal, relational and planetary wellness through classes, individual coaching and events. For over 30 years Inspiration has been developing highly integrative teachings and processes. We utilize wisdom from spiritual lineages, philosophy, humanistic psychology and more. The Executive Director will report to the Inspiration Board of Directors and work in close partnership with the Spiritual Director of the school. All aspects of the work done by the Executive Director will be aligned with the mission of Inspiration. Job responsibilities: 1. OPERATIONS · Oversee and facilitate all aspects of effective and efficient operations of the school, including managing staff and volunteers. · Support the vision of the school set forth by the Board of Directors. This includes ensuring that goals are defined and projects accomplished in a timely manner. · Build a thriving volunteer program that is interconnected with the office staff, Board of Directors and student body. · Ensure appropriate policies, procedures, laws, insurance and other structural requirements are in place. · Ensure internal communication among the Spiritual Director, office, classes and Board of Directors. · Expand the infrastructure of Inspiration to support the teachers and practitioners working within the Inspiration community. 2. FINANCE · Oversee and manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including tax payment, in conjunction with the Treasurer and accountant for InspirationSchool. · Ensure timely filing of required nonprofit documentation. · Work closely with the Spiritual Director and the Board to determine financial priorities, as well as create an annual budget. 3. MARKETING & OUTREACH · Oversee external communications (including contact database). · Develop & implement marketing and outreach plan (website, email, social media, books, lectures, etc). · Manage production and dissemination of communication and marketing materials. · Represent Inspiration in the community as needed. · Assist in developing partnerships and managing collaborations with outside national and community groups. 4. FUNDRAISING · Co-develop an annual fundraising strategy with the Board. · Execute logistics for fundraising implementation. · Secure funds through major gifts, foundations, corporations, grants and donors. 5. PLANNING · Support the development of a long-term strategic plan for Inspiration by the Board of Directors, including mission, vision, alignment of programs, financial stability, operations, structure, etc. · Oversee implementation of strategic plan, including alignment of office staff, tasks and priorities with the strategic vision for the school, as well as working closely with board committees as needed. Qualifications of the ideal candidate: Inspiration is a very organic environment, in which both structure and content are evolving. The foundational principles of Inspiration invite the cultivation of clarity, kindness, and compassion by students and staff alike while contributing their individual gifts to the community. The right candidate will be able to work with the spiritual director, students, and other leaders to create an orderly implementation of the schools mission and evolving learning. He/She will feel excited to work in a developing 21st century consciousness school. He/she will have an appreciation for physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual well-being, as well as the importance of the practical in supporting these values. Required: Bachelors degree or higher in an area related to management and/or interpersonal relationship (i.e. psychology, business management, social work). 5+ years experience in managerial capacity. Minimum 2 years experience in fundraising/development with event coordination. Preferred: 3+ years of personal growth work, including meditation, conscious breathing, yoga, or similar, preferred. Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience, in the range of $52,000 - $60,000 per year. Paid holidays and vacation days.
