Extemporaneous speech (non-verbatim) Q: How do we integrate culture with technology? A: To our respected board of judges, my fellow competitors, teachers, students, visitors, friends, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon to all of us. How do we integrate culture with technology? With this question, we have two main words to consider: culture and technology. Culture. Outside, we can hear the clamor of gongs. Outside, we have the women dancing our traditional dance while men are beating the gongs. I am proud to say that I am from Pinukpuk and that we are also practicing this culture of tadok and pattong. Technology. We are now in the 21st century. In fact we just welcomed 2015. This is the modernized century where gadgets like digital camera, video camera, and phones are all around. We can use this technology to showcase and promote our culture. We can upload a video of our traditional dance to show to people how rich our culture is, to show to people how beautiful our tradition is. We can also use photography. I am a girl who is fond of taking selfies. With those selfies of mine, I always make sure that my background is all about Kalinga: rivers, mountains, even animals like native pigs and carabaos. I post them on facebook later on because we all know that facebook reaches not just Kalinga but also Visayas, Mindanao, and even abroad: Europe and America. With this, its a way for us to invite tourists (flag raised to indicate times up) to visit our province. That would be all, thank you.
