Eye-witnesses sure are reliable, arent we? When you hear I KNOW what I saw, remember that seeing is perception (influenced by a multitude of subjective factors), and memory is not the playback of an actual event, but rather an ever-changing and/or self-reinforcing narrative construct . Another revealing psychological test is the one where people will swear they were at a certain place with certain people when an outstanding event happened, but even when there is clear historical, objective proof they were not where or with whom they remember they were ,they will do the old thats my story and Im sticking to it slight of mind. Also, i recommend looking up the Gorilla in the Room test-more proof of how fallible our perceptions are.
