Ezekiel 34:11-16(NIV) For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: "I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land. I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I myself will tend my sheep have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy, I will shepherd the flock with justice." This passage is awesome because it shows that God is caring and that He PURSUES us with His unfailing love. In our straying, sinful mess full of doubts, apathy, selfishness, and pride, God STILL personally pursues us! :D That is amazing!!! Praise the Lord for His loving pursuit of our hearts and souls!! He did it through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ[Check out Isaiah 53]. Have you responded to the pursuit of God that leads to your salvation, satisfaction, contentment and purpose found in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by putting your faith, belief, obedience and trust in Him and surrendering yourself to Him and by turning away from and abandoning sin, your selfish ways, and self???[Luke 9:23-24, Jeremiah 9:23-24, Romans 12, John 3:5, John 3:16-21, John 6:28-29, John 14:1-6, Acts 2:36-39, Ephesians 2:1-10, Romans 10:9-10, Titus 3:1-8, Psalm 130] I Peter 2:23-25(NIV) When they hurled insults at Him, He(Jesus Christ) did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted Himself to Him(God) who judges justly. He(Jesus Christ) Himself bore OUR sins in His body on the tree(cross), so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
