FAITH FOOD. March 13 BEARING GOOD FRUIT. Matthew 7:17-19 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. An employee must be productive to be worthy of his wage. He must work hard, work fast and work smart to get jobs done and done right. In Scripture, Bearing fruit has similar meanings. Our Lord Jesus Christ made it very clear that we need to be productive, to be worth our wages or price of the Christian race. Closely following Gods desire for good fruit is His desire for us to produce a lot of it—to be highly productive . Jesus said, This is to my Fathers glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples (John:15:8, By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples). Notice, bearing abundant fruit glorifies God and identifies Christs disciples! Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. No Christianity Without these fruit. On your own, it would be impossible. But when you operate in the Spirit, you have a supernatural ability to overcome. And the more you draw near to God by praying and reflecting on His Word, the more you will experience the fruit of the Spirit in your life. James 4:8 tells us Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. We must aim high to reach the highest goals. To produce the best fruit requires work, time, patience and perseverance (James:5:7-11) Jesus states the purpose of our calling: You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit. (John:15:16). We must be oriented toward eternal goals and work with all our hearts to bring them to fruition! We cant bear fruit without the help of the Holy Spirit Neither can we, acting on our own, Lets carefully read and ponder what Jesus explained to His disciples the evening before His arrest. He said: I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit (John:15:12). Pruning includes the Fathers loving discipline to correct our faults (Read Hebrews:12:5-11, James 1:12, James 5:11, Rev 3:19 ). When you examine yourself you might notice that some of the fruit are not well developed. You might be kind and good, but need to work on your patience. You might have great joy and peace but need work on self-control and gentleness. None of us are perfect, and we all have areas of improvement. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. PRAYER O send out Thy light and Thy truth, and let them lead us and bring us at last to our Fathers house in peace. AMEN.
