**** FAMILY AND FRIENDS PLEASE PLEASE READ **** The following post is the result of inspiration which came to me after a lot of prayer asking for Gods direction in a very important issue. I see posts or shares from most of you everyday talking about the importance of God in your lives, the importance and power of prayer and forgiveness, our need to be kinder to each other, our environment, endangered animals and it does my heart good to see the love and concern you all share for all those and other important issues. I have a very important issue I am working on, however it is going to be a hard one and I doubt I can do it alone. I need your help and it wont cost you anything but a few minutes of your time and your actions might make the difference in a very real and significant way. I am fighting to help my son recover a sound mind and Im somewhat lost as to what to do and I really need your help. It will be very interesting to me to see which of you will actually read this to its conclusion. My heart says you all will, I pray I am right. I received two letters from my son Jesse a couple of days ago. As most of you know Jesse is in some serious trouble and will most likely not see the outside of either a California prison or mental hospital for many years to come. Much of Jesses problems I believe are the result of some seriously messed up mental issues.There is no excuse for his decisions to set fire to a building, but in his delusional state he believed he was following directives from God and for whatever mixed up thinking believed he was doing Gods work. It seems the State of California believes and recognizes his condition and God willing he will be comitted to a mental facilty where he can get some seriously needed help. If you followed Jesses posts over the year prior to his incarceration you are familiar with his beliefs that he was apointed by God to save the world from destruction. How his actions were going to accomplish this I do not know or understand, but I do understand that he believed his mission was for the betterment of all mankind. As delusional as it was he felt he was sacrificing himself for all of us. I would ask each of you to consider his beliefs instead of his actions. None of us are perfect and none of us are without sin. I thank God everyday that noone was hurt by what he did and pray he will receive the help he needs. One of the biggest benefits to his mental health efforts will come I believe in the form of his familys emotional support while he is facing the consequences of his actions. I must confess my initial reaction to Jesse ending up where he is was not something I am proud of. At first I felt like washing my hands of him and simply felt he got what he deserved. However after much prayer and self examination I came to realize that our minds, especially when they malfunction can lead us down roads we never imagined possible and that denieing my son the love, understanding and forgiveness I ask from God for myself each and everyday was wrong and I chose to accept him as he was and love and emtionally support him unconditionally. I have noticied with each and every new letter from him a little bit of my old son is returning to us and my hope and prayer is that his mind can be healed simply by the power of our love and prayers. I very much believe that each of you, simply by the power of your own relationship with God, your prayers and your own willingness to provide unconditional love and support can be a part of helping me save a very special young man. Hes going to have to pay the price of his actions, but hopefully that payment, when combined with our love and support will help heal his troubled mind and when he does eventually regain his freedom, he might just have a chance at a normal life. Each of Jesses two letters contained a set of letters he had written to various family and friends and asked me to try to get in the hands of his family. Please review the following list of letters I have received, if your name is on it and you want your letter, please let me know and Ill be glad to send it to you. Many of you have expressed your concern over Jesses well being and have indicated you wished there was someway you could help. I cant think of anything that could do more for improving his chances at healing is mind then the love and support of God and his family. Gods doing his part and if you could take a few moments of your time to read his letters and invest a few minutes of your time to write him back I would be so very grateful and I know he would be as well. If you guys help me with your prayers and an occasional letter to him, I believe when he finally does get released, he may be the son, the cousin, nephew, uncle, or friend we all remember. You can leave me a private message in my chat box with your adress, either regular or email. If you prefer email I can scan it and attach it as a PDF file. If your name is on the list you apparently mean a great deal to my son and if your name is not on the list I suspect it will be on the next batch of letters or you may not even know Jesse and this is an opportunity for you to perform an act of kindness for a stranger and write him. If the latter is the case please let me know and I will gladly post Jesses mailing address. I have prayed often for Gods direction in how I can help my son and the miracle of a social networking media that allows me to comunnicate with all of you and ask for your help through your paryers and letters has been an answered prayer. Im not wanting you to send Jesse money, Ill handle that as best I can, but an investment of a 50 cent stamp and a few minutes of your time may be just what Jesse needs to give him the hope and motivation to get well. I have letters for the following people. I hope I will hear from you indicating your willingness to help a father try to save his son, not from his consequences, but from the worst fate I can imagine for a human being, the malfunction of ones own mind.
