FAN QUESTION! RPB ASH Im a single mom of a 5 year old and ADHD/ADD runs in my side of the family. Ever since he was around 2/3 I have noticed a lot of symptoms related to attention disorders. I had him in preschool in a mixed class(regular/special-ed) and they agreed that he needed that special attention because of his behavior and lack of focus. His teacher last year said he improved(we didnt see improvement) so this year he is in a regular 4K class but still gets 1/week consults from special ed teacher. Daily he comes home with reports with at least one problem relating to this issue. Ive been against medicating him this young because I dont want to do it if he doesnt 100% have it cuz I know its harder to diagnose in his age. My brother was on medication at 3.5 years old and my mom said it made a world of difference. She told me last night after having him all day that I should consider it because he is getti worse in her eyes. He always seems like he is all over the place mentally and physically. We are constantly having to discipline him and raise our voice and I hate him getting all the negative feedback cuz I know from psychology that doing that a lot can have bad long-term effects. Idk what to do! Should I consider medication??
