Hence, it is our aim that upon the completion of this workshop, kids are able to:1. Lay hands on the nature of architecture as a profession and as a discipline.2. Infer some cultural and environmental factors involved in the design of built environment.3. Apply a stimulative participatory design process. 4. Criticize and evaluate peer groups.Get together: 9:00 am – 9:30 am (group information)Session 1: 9:30 – 10:30 am Think: who is an architect? Break 1: 10:30 – 10:45 am Session 2: 10:45 – 12:00 pm Draw: where do you want To Live?Break 2: 12:00 – 12:45 pm (Lunch Time)Session 3: 12:45 – 15:15 pm Built: and teach your community.Break 3: 15:15 – 15:30 pm Session 4: 15:30 – 16:00 pm Get together (review)Workshop Method:A one day workshop divided with three main sessions, 1.Think 2.Draw 3.Built in addition to a final get together closing session.Workshop plan:Introductory presentation about the role of the architect in shaping and developing built environment, followed by group work sessions that simulate a participatory community designProcess: Think - Draw - BuiltFinally, a discussion of the outcome will help implant the love of the profession in the hearts and minds of today’s kids, tomorrow’s architects.The workshop Scale: The scale of the workshop should be around 15-20 kid/ instructor, in order to monitor the learning process.The target group Children of 7 to 16 years of age will be encouraged to register online. But it is expected afterwards, that the parents should send their children by own arrangement.
