FIRE WEATHER WARNING for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt, the Channel Country, and parts of the North West and Central West districts. Issued at 3:07pm EST on Sunday the 29th of September 2013 for the remainder of today and Monday. A surface trough extends from the Gulf Country to the eastern Darling Downs. Dry, gusty southwesterly winds in the wake of the trough are expected to cause the following conditions for the remainder of today: Severe fire danger in the Darling Downs and Granite Belt district. Temperatures up to 34 degrees, relative humidity down to 7%, and winds to 30 km/hr are expected. On Monday, winds in the west of the state will turn northwesterly and freshen ahead of a vigorous trough moving into central Australia. These hot, dry winds will produce the following conditions tomorrow: Severe fire danger in the Channel Country district. Severe fire danger in the southern North West and the southwestern Central West districts during the morning. Temperatures to 40 degrees, relative humidity down to 5%, and winds to 40 km/h are expected. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service Queensland advises that fires will be uncontrollable and fast-moving. The next warning will be issued by 11pm.
