FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH 11 PM WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR SISKIYOU COUNTY IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA The National Weather Service Office in Medford, Oregon has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the above area due to the expected development of heavy rain. Rainfall totals of 1 -2 inches of rain may produce flash flooding over burn scars from fires this year and last. Burn scars from this seasons fires are especially likely to contribute to the development of flash floods due to soil conditions present . Debris flows are also very possible. Anybody in the area of the Happy Camp Complex, July Complex, Beaver Fire, and Oregon Gulch Fire burn areas needs to be on alert and ready to take action if flooding or debris flows develop. This watch is for advisory purposes, but it is highly likely it will turn into a warning later today. Now...before you even ask....fire managers are way ahead of you. Crews are going to be pulled from the Happy Camp Complex and the other fires they are doing mop up work on at 8 pm tonight and not allowed to return to the fire lines until they are very sure it is safe for them to do so.
