FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE! SHARE! SHARE! SHARE! Monday July 7th we are asking everyone to take direct action and do a sit-in or occupy local offices of Liberal MLAs and Conservative MPs. We need to show that all of us are standing together against unsustainable industrial development Indigenous Land Defender groups such as the Unis’ot’en camp and the Klabona Keepers have been taking direct action on their un-surrendered lands and it’s time for British Columbians to stand with them, both on the land and in the courts. We are all currently facing unsustainable development from every direction ranging from 14 pipelines to hydraulic fracturing in the North East to the expansion of Fish farms on the west coast. Approving these projects are all symptoms of a government that places corporate interests over the interests of people and the environment. British Columbians will not stand for unsustainable development of any kind and we are prepared to do what ever it takes to stand up for the well being of our communities and the environment. Government is enabling these destructive projects so it’s time elected officials hear we say enough is enough. Attached is a list including the basics of organizing your own direct action and a link to help you locate your own local MP/MLA office. It’s time to take a stand for healthy jobs for communities and a sustainable future for our province. Recipe for civil disobedience. 1.) Record everything! enough smart phones out there so prepare to record and upload as soon as you can. 2.) Start a community group of people willing to take a stand. Doesnt matter even if you are one person take a stand and chose your own path, mind you support is always encouraged but know your rights and limits this is essential for you to come to terms with. 3.) Go to either Federal MP or Provincial Liberal MLA and tell them all No to the total environmentally destructive, climate changing, resource extraction mega projects. 4.) Remain peaceful, this is just another step towards telling both governments No pipelines!. 5) Select one or two people to manage communications for the entire length of the action. The role of the spokesperson is to interact with police and media instead of the action participants to reduce confusion and alleviate potential stress for everyone involved with the action. Feel free to talk about personal Charter of rights and what being a sovereign (nation) means on un-surrendered lands The BC CONservatives that chose Enbridge over B.C have names and addresses, please direct all actions to their offices. enbridge21.ca
