FQ: Im 15w 5d and have been having major pain that radiates under my right rib and into my back for the last 6 days everytime I eat or drink ANYTHING. Im a very healthy and active person, so not sure how this all came about. Ive visited my family physician, OB and a general surgeon to figure out whats going on. They all believe its a gallbladder issues, but when I received an ultrasound, nothing was detected. The general surgeon recommended I get a HIDA scan to see if my gallbladder is malfunctioning. With this scan, a radioactive tracer is injected into a vein in the arm - the tracer travels with the bile from the liver to the gallblader; however, a camera is placed above the abdomen where radiographic images are taken for about 60 minutes. Although they say the exposure to the fetus is small, theres still a chance for future childhood leukemia and genetic mutations. Has anyone been through this before? What was your experience and outcome? Im so lost on what to do! Im in so much pain that living with this for 6 months seems impossible. I appreciate any feedback - thanks! ~4
