FRIDAY, 7TH JUNE 2013 YOU ARE A CHANNEL OF HOPE “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Cor 1:3-4 Have you come to the realization that everything you will ever need in this life and beyond is available in God right now? The man of God started by appreciating the Lord here and says “blessed be God” Then he goes on to give us a brief description of this God that he is so grateful to. He calls Him the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father (origin and source) of mercies and the God of all comfort! In other words, there is no kind of mercy or comfort that cannot be found in Him. The Amplified Bible puts it as “the God [Who is the Source] of every comfort (consolation and encouragement)” In other words, there is no other place or person in whom you can find comfort, consolation and encouragement like the Lord. It doesn’t matter where you are today in your life; it doesn’t matter how difficult your case may be; it doesn’t matter that the professionals have given up on your case and called it a hopeless one; there is someone who knows exactly what to do with a case like yours. He has dealt with worse ones successfully and is telling you now that yours will be just like any other He has handled before. In fact, even if your predicament is peculiar to you and there has been none in your shoes in all history, He can still fix it up because He specializes in making great things out of nothing! Paul went on to say that He comforts us in ALL our tribulations so that we may be able to comfort them which are in ANY trouble. Oh great news! God is able to see you through any kind of trouble you find yourself at all. He is even more interested in making a “one time” troubled man the comforter to other troubled people. So cheer up dear, not only is the Spirit of God going to see to your comfort, He will sure make you a comforter and a helper to others as well.
