FRIDAY NIGHT PRAISE REPORT AND PRAYER REQUEST: Rhonda has had a stable and fairly restful afternoon and evening. Her labs are all trending in the right direction with good kidney function, normal sinus rhythm, viable blood pressure without the aid of vasopressors, strong mean arterial pressure or profusion of blood to all of the vital organs, white blood count down from 27K to 22K. I am totally convinced that this mornings big surprise in discovering there was not the anticipated major abscess of putrid infection in the chest cavity not requiring the intended painful procedure was a direct answer to the specific, targeted prayers of intercession from Gods people. Let us, therefore, pause to give God some crazy praise for hearing and answering our prayers. Tube feedings have been suspended for this evening to allow for colon rest in anticipation of the need for a CT scan of the abdominal cavity in the event her white blood count were to start moving up again, indicative of new or increased infection not responding to the wide spectrum of antibiotics. Let us not grow weary in well doing, but persevere in stedfast, unwavering prayer for the following needs: 1) Total eradication of any and all infection in Rhondas body 2) Reduction of white blood count to a normal, healthy range 3) Continued strong urine output, ridding the body of toxins and fluid retention 4) Strong heart function with a normal ejection fraction 5) Maintenance of a viable blood pressure without the aid of vasopressors 6) Healthy respiratory function with self-sustaining volume in every breath 7) Restful and recuperative sleep 8) Morning alertness and respiratory volume needed for weaning from the vent 9) Successful extubation from the vent 10) Sealing of leak in the right lung Rhonda has had several alert periods this evening during which she has unequivocally communicated via sign language that she is in this for the long haul. Though tired, she has not given up the fight; rather, she is persevering, knowing that he/she who endures to the end shall be saved, delivered, healed, set free, liberated, emancipated, restored, revived, renewed, refreshed, reinvigorated . . . you get the picture. HALLELUJAH AND AMEN! She believes that God yet has a work/ministry for her. Furthermore, she is determined to hold in her arms the grandchildren God shall yet give us. So, all in all, this report is a praise report. I sign off with the words of one of her surgeons this evening, She is much better this evening than she was this morning. Good night. Rest well. Sleep tight and may the morning greet you with His grace and glory!
