FROM THE NEWSROOM: A new ordinance has been passed in the Town of Killingly allowing the transfer of any balance in the annual Agriculture Commission Budget to the Open Land Acquisition Fund. The ordinance, which passed following a public hearing Tuesday, also adds a member of the Agriculture Commission to the open Space Land Acquisition Commission. Town Council Chairman John Hallbergh said the Open Space Land Acquisition Fund is useful, should the town be interested in purchasing more open space, and explained that when a developer develops property and decides to compensate the town financially instead of with an open space land donation, that money now will go into that fund. Tune in for the full report.
