FROM THE NEWSROOM: (CRN) With the start of 2015, a new law impacting hunting and fishing guides in Conn., as well as 16 and 17 year old hunters and anglers, is on the books. Part of the new law requires fishing and hunting guides to register each year with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Bill Hyatt, the Departments Chief of Natural Resources, commented. “We believe that the guide registration will enable us to promote fishing and hunting in Connecticut to a broader array of tourists and it will bring additional fishing and hunting activities and fishing and hunting dollars to the state of Connecticut,” he said. Hyatt says the new law also cuts in half hunting, fishing and trapping license fees for 16 and 17 year olds, in an effort to encourage more of them to hunt and fish. Tune in for the full report.
