FROM THE NEWSROOM: The Town of Killinglys polling locations will be among the 68 randomly selected precincts that will have their primary election results audited by the Secretary of States Office. Alongside Voting Rights activists, Secretary of State Denise Merrill announced the audits will be conducted on 68 of the 667 polling precincts that used optical scan voting machines in the August 14 primary will be audited manually. Merrill says that the audits are state mandated and are meant to ensure the accuracy of the optical scanners ahead of the general election. The audits must be completed by September 12, according to the Secretary of States Office.
