FUTA Staff Stabbed to Death Over Phone Argument A staff of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Udoh Johnson was stabbed to death with a broken bottle in a drinking joint over a minor argument. According to VANGUARD, Udon had gone to a drinking joint not too far from his house at Adinlewa street around 11:30pm to charge his mobile phone. Udoh was said to have gone back to remove his phone but one of the customers in the joint claimed that udoh stepped on his legs without apologizing. The said person reportedly removed the phone and the charger and flung it away. An argument ensued and was followed by a fight during which Udoh was reportedly stabbed by the man with a broken bottle. He bled to death from the wound he sustained. While the fight lasted others at the joint fled and nobody could rush Udoh to the hospital. A police source said that the owner of the joint and some family members of the suspect have been picked up for questioning. The state Police Command Image Maker Wole Ogodo confirmed the incident that the deceased was stabbed by one Wale who is now at large during an argument. He however explained that Udoh was stabbed on the leg and was immediately rushed to the State Specialist Hospital, Akure for medical attention before he died while receiving treatment. He said the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy. According to him the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigations. He gave assurance that the drag net of the police detectives in the state would soon catch the suspect.
