Facebooks new procedures on how it places things on your news - TopicsExpress

Facebooks new procedures on how it places things on your news feeds say that if you do not interact with posts from a page, they block the page from your feed. This is meant to stop the spam advertisements. Companies like Coke can put out a facebook ad and for about $0.07 per 1,000 impressions (1,000 pages), put an add on your feed. It is big business, but people are leaving facebook because of it, so they are making the change. It does not matter if you like a page or not, if you ignore it, it really does go away now. This started on 1/1/2015 I can now go to run an add and see how many pages I have been blocked from for being ignored. 37% of the people who liked this page will never see this post, even if I decided to push it out for money, which I am not doing, or do I do often (as some think seem to think). Regardless, they are already gone, unless they come back on their own accord, like a few posts, or decided to click that link on our page to get notifications. As with all things, things change, and if you do not change with them, you get left behind. All of this stuff has left me, well, ready to rant, I hope you read it too, because I think it needed to be said (its on our feed with a picture of the surveys if you did). I dont think it got much attention, we lost one like and gained one signature. Yawn.... So lets try something else. Do you watch Newsroom? This is my favorite three minutes of the show, and at times, I think every word is true. Dont put me in a political box over it, his character is Republican, he opposes the tea party, supports education, and believes in moral causes, and thinks that the government is not a bad thing. They purposefully right his character as a critical thinking person that cannot be put in a box, which is perhaps why I like it so much. But the last part of what he says, I relate to what we are trying to do here. Maybe it will help this post get noticed, maybe it will start a conversation, get some likes or shares, and will surely piss off a few folks who will likely leave the page. When I can only get 50 people to sign a petition for buses two days before the most important board meeting since we started, I dont care. If you havent been to the page in a while, come over, find the link for the petition, and sign it. Beyond all else, let me know if you like the clip. Maybe I will start doing movie clip of the week to keep you on your toes. https://youtube/watch?v=73_ds1xQmD4
