Fan Question---> Maybe its been awhile since Ive been in grade school but I dont remember bouncing around so many rooms/classes/teachers at such a young age. My stepdaughter is repeating 4th grade since last years blended 4th/5th class didnt work so well for her with all the transitions and she did some at home program to work on learning gaps. This year she has the same teacher but the class is not blended. I just got a class "schedule". Of course there are the music & PE teachers but they have 3 different teachers teaching writing, PE/Technology, & social studies in a rotating schedule. The class does reading in their class, goes for music, goes back to their class, breaks for recess, goes to another class for writing, another for tech, breaks for recess/lunch, goes back to their class for 3-4 subjects (different teachers) sometimes broken up with a library or art class (in another classroom) then recess and back to their class. When I was in school only middle & high school students did that many transitions & we had tech, music & pe (throughout the week) but had our teacher the rest of the day (not 3 different ones). I guess my question/concern is before I changed my major I took some ECE classes and it was suggested teachers keep transitions to a minimum for grade school kids & Im concerned how this may affect my SD again & of course is this what school is like these days for most or what does your school do??
