Farmland Protection. Lets get together with other groups around BC and protect our valuable farmland. Here are a few ways you can get involved. 1. Encourage organizations in your community to get active. Share the brochure available on the BC Food Systems Network website with friends, family and colleagues. bcfsn.org/ 2. Like the ALR watch facebook page. Visit the Farmland Defence League group and Join in. Buy and wear their buttons! 3. Sign the petition prepared by the Farmland Protection Coalition. 4. Sign the petition at change.org 5. Contact the BCFSN to find out about Town Hall meetings around the province and get together to support public education. 6. Rally at the Legislature to Protect Farmland in mid-February. Stay tuned for dates. ...AND most importantly: Protecting land is not enough to ensure a vibrant local food system, we to support farmers - tell them how much we need them, ask them how you can support them- and put your money where your mouth is and buy local!
