Farrell encourages Dublin Fingal students to enter Newgrange Winter Solstice Art Competition Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has called on all schoolchildren from 4th class in primary school to 6th year in post-primary school to consider entering the Newgrange Winter Solstice Art Competition, run by the Office of Public Works, which was launched last week by Minister of State, Simon Harris TD. “The Newgrange Winter Solstice Art Competition is open to schoolchildren from 4th class in primary school up to 6th year in post-primary school right across the country. Winning entrants will gain the unique opportunity to be present for the Winter Solstice in the Newgrange Chamber on December 21st 2014. “The competition is growing in popularity every year with over 600 entries last year from each corner of the country. The chance to be present in the chamber at Newgrange for the Winter Solstice is fantasic and it one which I am sure children from across Dublin Fingal would enjoy. “In fact, this experience is so popular that 30,542 people from destinations across the globe entered the Winter Solstice Lottery draw this year where the fifty people who will be allowed access to the Newgrange Chamber over the winter solstice period were selected. “I would urge all interested schoolchildren from Dublin Fingal to consider entering this competition. The closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 14th November 2014 and further information on the competition is available on heritageireland.ie. alanfarrell.ie/farrell-encourages-dublin-fingal-students-to-enter-newgrange-winter-solstice-art-competition/
