Father God...................we pray this morning for the family of Stephen Sotloff................another American journalist who has been beheaded by the Islamist terror group ISIS..............the same demonic group that has been killing thousands of Christians in Iraq and regions beyond.............we pray for our president and national leaders that they will respond with boldness and courage............the same boldness and courage that has made America a great nation from its beginning...............may we not be the nation prophesied about in Isaiah 18 which says.................woe to the land shadowed with buzzing wings.............a nation tall and smooth of skin..............a people powerful from their beginning.............a nation powerful and treading down.................whose land the rivers divide................all inhabitants of the world and dwellers on the earth when he lifts up a banner on the mountains see it...............when he blows a trumpet they hear it..................may we not be that nation Lord by forgetting You and declaring that we will go in our own strength............declaring as a nation, who can bring us down................may we not be a nation that forgets their God and commits the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah................ which says they were proud..........full of food............had an abundance of idleness...............did not strengthen the poor and needy................they were haughty...............and committed abominations and perversions.................may we as a nation not be turned over into the hands of our enemies which desire to bring us down to the ground..............may we as a nation be strong and of a good courage............may we understand that we are being mocked and scoffed at by our enemies............which are threatening us now with nuclear missiles and bullying words..................may we as Christians turn our knees downward and our faces upward.................knowing that our help comes from You Lord which made heaven and earth................we cry out for your mercy during these perilous times.................asking You to pour out Your Spirit upon this land in response to those who are praying for revival in their city............another spiritual awakening in their nation.................help us today Lord and help our brothers and sisters and the churches in Ukraine who are facing destruction at the hands of Russia..........in Jesus name we pray...........amen.
