Fear accompanies every pending release. Without fail. Its like - TopicsExpress

Fear accompanies every pending release. Without fail. Its like taking all your clothes off and being like hey look at me, waddaya think? This forthcoming EPs release is no different. In fact I think the fear is greater since my time spent with and on this project was significantly shorter than my others. Less time to second guess and make changes. Just a lot of gut trusting. And letting go. And since this EP is so simple and stripped down and exposed theres really nothing for me to hide behind. hey look at me, waddaya think? When I woke up today and saw that it was December 2nd I knew it was an important day. Someones birthday. . .an Anniversary. . .something. I should check my book. . . .And then I realized It was the release date of my first album, Superhero, back in 2008. I posted the pic to honor it and your responses have been overwhelming. Seriously blowing my mind. Albums are kind of like snapshots that represent a certain point in an artists evolution. They capture merely a moment in a lifetime. I look back on Superhero with pride, but I certainly chuckle and shake my head at some of my choices. They were 100% authentic at the time of course, but today. . .Im just not the same gal. All this to say. . .Im so thrilled that what my heart is moved to do resonates with you. Im so happy that 6 years later you still care about something a younger me had to say, in the way she needed to say it. Thank you for being one of the most important reasons I keep moving forward, and for being a witness to and an inspiration for growth and evolution. Personally and artistically. (. . .ha, whats the difference?!?!) Most of all, today, thank you for giving me the courage I need to keep walking through the fear as I reveal my third baby to the world. As long as youre listening, Ill keep singing. From my heart to yours. . .by way of your ears. I love and appreciate you all. xoxo Sho
