Feast of the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph Sunday December 28, 2014 In the midst of a crisis surrounding the integrity of the family, God Love gives us back the full model of familial love to present Jesus, Mary and Joseph. La Sagrada Familia tells us all that every family craves authentic and deeply, since from the intense communion there is a total loving surrender by each member of the Holy Family raising every generous act toward God, as the aroma of incense, for give him glory. Therefore, in the light of Scripture, here are some important features of St. Joseph, St. Mary and baby Jesus. San José is the head of the family and always acts as God commands him, often without understanding why what God asks, but having faith and trust in Him. When he awoke, Joseph did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him: he took Mary home . (Mt 1: 24-25) When he learns that Mary was pregnant thinks leave because he loved very much and did not want to denounce publicly (as was the custom of the time), but the angel of God appeared to him in a dream and said that what had been conceived in the womb of Mary was the work of the Holy Spirit and not to be afraid to receive it. She gave birth to a son, and he called the name of Jesus (Mt 1, 25) When the child is born, he puts the name of Jesus, as the angel had said. Then when Herod was planning to kill the baby Jesus and to another announcement Angel of the Lord, Joseph takes his family and march to Egypt. Finally, with the death of Herod and before a new notice of the Angel of God, takes his family to settle in Nazareth. San Jose, Chaste Spouse of Mary, accept Jesus in his fatherly heart, educating him, caring for him, loving him as if it were his child. The Child Jesus learns from his holy adoptive parent many things, among them, a carpenter. The Blessed Virgin Mary From the moment of the Annunciation, Mary is the model of surrender to God. Behold the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word (Lk 1: 38) At the Annunciation, Mary responds with a resounding Yes from a possessed freedom, putting in the hands of God. In Santa María see a continuous experience of the dynamics of joy-pain: raising, educating, closely following his Son Jesus at all times showing a genuine maternal love. His mother kept all these things in her heart (Lk 2: 52) She was slowly glimpsing the transcendent mystery of the life of Jesus, remaining faithfully attached to him. The boy Jesus From childhood, Jesus proves to be the Son of God and to comply faithfully what his Father sends him. I lived obedient to them (Lk 2: 51) As a child, he obeyed his mother and stepfather, and always stood by them. Mary and Joseph were his first teachers. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him (Lk 2, 40) Jesus learned the carpenters trade from his adoptive father Joseph. Did you not know that I must be about my Fathers business? (Lk 2: 49) When Jesus is in the temple, at twelve, one might think that disobeys her parents and thats wrong. Not so, Jesus demonstrated this fact in its full independence from every human link when you are putting the plan of the Father and the mission that He has entrusted. Family Prayer for God, from whom comes every family in heaven and on earth, Father, that you love and life, let every family that lives in our land, sea, through your Son Jesus Christ, born woman and through the Holy Spirit, source of Divine Charity, a true sanctuary of life and love for new generations. Make your grace may guide the thoughts and works of the spouses, for their own good and all the families of the world. Make younger generations are in a strong human family support, to grow in truth and love. Make love, strengthened by the grace of the Sacrament of Marriage, appears stronger than any weakness or crises that could have our families. We pray through the Family of Nazareth, that the Church can play a fruitful mission in our family, among all the nations of the earth. Through Christ our Lord, Way, Truth and Life, for ever and ever. Amen. S. S. John Paul II The Holy family, model of faith and fidelity Dear Brothers and Sisters, On this first Sunday after Christmas, the Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Family. As in the crib, the look of faith allows us to simultaneously embrace the divine Child and the people who are with him: his Mother, and Joseph, his putative father.What light radiates this group icon holy Christmas! Light of mercy and salvation for the world, the light of truth to every man for the human family and every family.How beautiful is for husbands reflected in the Virgin Mary and her husband Joseph!How comforting to parents especially if they have a small child!How enlightens boyfriends who think their life projects! The fact together with the stable in Bethlehem to contemplate her as the Sagrada Familia, allows us to like especially the gift of family privacy and prompts us to provide warmth and concrete solidarity in situations where numerous Unfortunately for various reasons lack peace, lack of harmony, in a word, lack the family. The message coming from the Sagrada Familia is primarily a message of faith: the house of Nazareth is a home in which God truly is central. For Mary and Joseph this option is specified faith in service to the Son of God entrusted to him, but is also expressed in their mutual love, rich in spiritual tenderness and fidelity. Mary and Joseph taught with his life that marriage is a covenant between man and woman, alliance that commits to mutual fidelity, and is based on common trust in God. It is a noble, profound and definitive covenant, which is for believers the sacrament of love of Christ and the Church. The fidelity of the spouses is, in turn, like a solid rock on which the trust of children rests. When parents and children together breathe this atmosphere of faith, have an energy that allows them to face even difficult trials, as the experience of the Holy Family. You need to feed this atmosphere of faith. In this perspective is preparing the Second World Meeting with Families will take place in Rio de Janeiro on 4 and 5 October 1997. It will be a great celebration of families in Latin America and around the world to renew the message of the first meeting, held here in Rome on the occasion of the International Year of the Family.
