Feedback from Angela De Oliveira: Thank you to all who replied and gave me advice regarding my post about talking to my sons school about South Africa. Well it went very well and they actually want me to come back and do a part two. The children were very excited with the pictures I took of the animals, Cape Town and map of South Africa. I spoke about the big 5, how big SA is, taught them some Afrikaans and SA Slang. Spoke about sport and showed them a mascot that I have of a Springbok dressed in rugby gear. I told them how Rooibos tea comes from the Cape and that you can buy it in the supermarkets in the UK, as well as when they are buying grapes during the winter months to look for where the grapes come from and you will find its South Africa. The teachers informed me that they learnt a few things that they did not even realise and how some of them would like to actually visit South Africa. I left some of the food goodies for the teachers. So all in all it went well I could have spoken for longer and I enjoyed talking about the country. Now will I do a part 2??? Thank you again to all for the tips; it is nice to see that no matter where in the world we are or for whatever reason we left SA to start an adventure in a new country, that we still have a passion and a love for a country that still runs through our veins.
