Feeding the poor is a lucrative business in India. Piles of food grain rot in warehouses every year. There are not enough cold-storages in the country. The delivery mechanism through public distribution system is the mother nest of corruption. WTO is a poster child of large multinational cos who want monopoly over food grain production, distribution, seed monopoly and take over entire food production of the world.Actually There are two ways to hold any nation hostage - Economic Debt and Agricultural Debt as these are the core necessities of human survival. If India doesnt want to ratify the treaty its fine but problem is that we didnt say so in the previous summit at Bali and raised the issue only at the last moment. A consistent stand would have increased Indias credibility. And lastly, India is in a minority.
