Feeling a late Record Store Day participation urge, Ive had a trip to ST Records in Dudley and then popped in Vinyl @ Vintage in Wolvo on the way back um. Very depressing stock selection. ST is a specialist metal shop 364 days a year so i appreciate their problem when it comes to ordering stuff they dont know. But at least they have a go and are nice folks too. But from the list of stuff i might potentially have pondered buying i only saw the Pissed Jeans 12 and the Sonics/Mudhoney split 7. They hadnt even ordered 75% the stuff i fancied, not that i blame them. V&V is a weird one, it seems like they only order the major label/mainstream stuff anyway. Not sure what the point of that is. Plus they still had loads of unsold RSD 2013 stuff which shouldve warned em that they were perhaps ordering the wrong stuff. Oh well. Might try Birmingham next year if i can be arsed to drag myself over there If anyone sees the Liars 12, Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld 12, Sonics Rendezvous Band 7 or Beefheart LP.
