Fellow Libertarians, A proposed law that would have changed - TopicsExpress

Fellow Libertarians, A proposed law that would have changed the Presidential Electoral College in Florida from a state wide winner-take-all system to one based on individual Congressional Districts, was withdrawn January 16th by Rep Pilon prior to introduction to the House. One can only guess he came under sever pressure from his major party colleagues to remove this idea that weakens a major party’s hold on the Presidential race. That means Florida will remain a winner-take-all electoral college vote state. If a plurality of any popular vote is for a particular candidate, that person wins all the electoral college votes, and those are the ones that matter. Two states use district based Electoral College voting...Maine and Nebraska. The Presidential Electoral College winner-take-all system we have is just one more prop to a two party system. It only serves to restrict competition and limit the choices of Floridians. And that is just the way the major parties like it.
