Fellow acting peeps, on your marks, get set.... GO! The MCM expo (sometimes called comicon) is running a 48hr film race this weekend (from the 10th). We can have a shooting and editing crew size of up to eight (this does not include cast, so the more the merrier) and we will have 48hrs to write, film and edit a movie from 3-5 mins long (including credits etc). If anyone is interested we can sign up (if possible, no deadline before Friday is given for entries but I think it best if we enter on Wednesday) and either one of us goes to forbidden planet London or we receive an email with a short line and a prop that must be included (I assume they mean broom, chair etc, full details and rules can be found here comicconfilmrace/). They specifically state you dont need any fancy equipment and it can even be filmed on a smartphone, its how it is written and acted that is more important. The winners receive film making equipment and software which would be a brilliant asset to the society. Anyone interested? We can gather on the Saturday to film. Camden may be wise due to the variety of shops (we never know what prop we may need) and proximity to hall bedrooms as well as academic rooms (I assume time will be of the essence and we never know the variety of locations we may need). This will leave the editing for Sunday (we should keep it simple and this can be done by anyone with moviemaker or something at any location, we can gather as a group to give helpful suggestions as well).
