Fellow countrymen, the rule of law may be under siege. The rule of law is again under attack by those that continuously boost of having invigorated it. We have seen enough and we may not be able to watch any more. Today’s ruling that has nullified Monday’s purported vote to impeach the man that was elected by the masses is a victory to the people of Uganda and Kampala in particular. We only have to be careful but cautious of what happens in this city. Kampala city belongs to masses but not a handful. Ugandans should not forget that what is happening to the OMULOODI will happen to some other person. We only have to rally our support behind those that have sacrificed to protect the rule of law and constitutionalism. This is the honest way we will survive in harmony. The rubbing of shoulders between the Lord Mayor and the ED was foreseen and deliberated upon by the LORD Mayor and a few other MPs in the 8th parliament (read the hansard). But our leadership paid a deaf ear. Who deserves the blame? Time will tell. Governments have powers everywhere in the world to do staff but in the interest of the masses. Can anyone say now that the mayor’s impeachment is in people’s interest? May be!!! But I highly doubt. I honestly believe that there is a plot by individuals in power to do all provocative staff to incite and insult the masses, may be to justify the bloated expenditures on security. In, Kampala, We’re aware that the ED as an agent of dictatorship is found of disrespecting the Judiciary (the case of the land office in Kampala). We only hope she will behave otherwise this time. There is a lot of pretence and cowardice at city hall but the cowards may live shorter this time and the brave will prevail. Long live our very own “OMULOODI)
