Fiction isn’t usually my first choice for reading. However, having encountered one of the nicest writerly types I’ve met on the internet (Tamara Leigh), enjoying her comments, and the fantastic recipes she posts, I decided to make an exception. Apparently she can cook as well as she can write! Just finished “LEAVING CAROLINA.” If you enjoy a good romance story (not tawdry, hokey, cheap,), I believe you’ll really like her work. Characters are believeable, the plot hangs together nicely, with a few unexpected twists, and not a few chuckles. You probably know folks just like the ones in her story (maybe they live in your neighborhood or in your house!). Without pontificating piously or judgmentally, she makes some good, solid points. At the end, she posts some questions for discussion guides if the book is being read by a reading group.
