Field Day 2013 C.A.R.S The Calexico Amateur Radio Society K6CLX was on the air for the first time in the ARRL Field Day 2013 event, we had a great time setting our two radio station with the great effort from the participating club members Nestor K6JTT, Francisco N6CRX, Tim KJ6VGM, Timo KJ6YPA, Larry Jr KI6ZXU, Kevin KJ6DDS and Larry KI6YAA, we also had a great help from our friend Larry Smith WA6LAW and our host Mr Montes for letting us use his property to set up our station. We also had a visit from some of the local ham radio operators who stop by after concluding their exam session. Our working conditions were two antennas, a 80 meters horse fence antenna from KF4BWG and a R8 Cushcraft vertical multi band. Our radios were an Icom IC-7000, a Kenwood TS-430S and another Icom 746pro as backup. We mounted our 80m dipole antenna on a palm three about 40 feet high and we setup the vertical on a tripod on the middle of the yard, both antennas performed with decent results.
