Fightback Many people with a disability do not know that they can - TopicsExpress

Fightback Many people with a disability do not know that they can ask the Disability team at their local council to come and do an assessment to see if theres anything they can supply or fit to aid you getting around your home, free of charge. Even if you own your home outright this can still be done. Most of my clients have had adaptations such as wet rooms (if you push for it and have fallen in bath etc) rails, additional stair rails, stair lifts, ramps, and then theres the smaller items that are moveable, like perching stools, tap adjusters, grabbers etc. All you have to do is either search for disability assessment team in your LA search bar, or ring the local authority and ask for them. Tell the person you want an assessment, if they try and fob you off which many of them do, then contact us, we have excellent results in getting some action started quickly! Dependding on funds they have and how much you need they should then start the ball rolling. Results fitted this week in the NW area, a full walk in wet room, new external door and ramp, perching stool and rails to inside and outside of property worth £11,000 in rossendale. Wet room x 6 for residents in manchester areas, numerous rails to external of property, and many hand held aids.
