Fiji now suffers from poverty culture and most people are victims - TopicsExpress

Fiji now suffers from poverty culture and most people are victims of poverty consciousness. At least my observations especially our mainstream Indo Fijian culture, this widespread culture fosters attitudes of rights (hak / adhikar) without hard work, handouts vs. work for money, sit at home and complain about unfairness vs. looking outside the box for the opportunities or taking action. The kaam chor attitude which has become part of this new culture. It gets worst when a few who actually want to make money in Fiji or are at the beginning of making money, there will be major attempts to bring that person down either through words, action or just bad attitude. There are common phrases like paisa leike kaha jayega. Thats hypocricy because its the same people who would be seen praying to goddess laxmi for all the money in the world. Jealously and negative criticism is also a big culture at least I know amongst us Indo Fijians. Its almost like Doosre ki bhala dekha nahi jaye culture. Anyone that has anything clever to say is often labeled as choo-ti-ya. This is culture in Fiji. The poverty consciousness in Fiji is sickening. Wake up brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, and our children. Lets embrace a different culture for ourselves. I pray for your prosperity and abundance. Let this sickness disintegrate. So be it. Peace Peace Peace!
