Fiji opposition welcomes Bishop visit. Posted 3 November 2014, 16:26 AEDT. Fijis opposition has welcomed the recent visit to the country of Australian foreign minister Julie Bishop. SODELPA party leader Ro Teimumu Kepa says its good that Fiji can now be part of the seasonal worker scheme which sees people from the Pacific working short term in Australias horticulture industry. She also says Fiji ought to rejoin the Pacific islands Forum and drop its stance that Australia and New Zealand should be expelled from the regional organisation first. Ro Teimumu says that although opposition parties in Fiji had felt in the past that Australia was being too quick to reach a rapprochement with the interim government, its different now.
