Finally, I discovered the shortest cut from north central Namibia via Grootfontein, Okamatapati, Otjikondo, Otjinene Driompsis to the Transkalahari Border (Mamuno on Botswana side) Post though only tared 5km after Otjinene onward to Transkalahari High Way. 5km to Otjinene inland is gravel but a good one that does not necessarily require an off roader except the about 45/60 km stretch between Otjinene and Ehungiro where even after the road scrapping truck has passed there, it remains terrible and potentially dangerous with some cement like fine dust covering very rough terrain. If wishes were horses, I would wish the that the state coffers would open wide to at least pour some stones and a bit of concrete at least on that spot to make that road safer and faster to travel. If wishes were maybe even ponies, I would wish the state or maybe some PPP coffers would open even wider to tar the road maybe wish some kind of a tall gate to recover the cost as I see that route as an excellent transport corridor to northern Namibia and can imagine that trucks hauling goods through the Transkalahari High Way will not need to detour to Windhoek but shoot straight via that route - of course I do also beleive it can be even shorter if instead of going to Okamatapati, a route is identified to enter Grootfonteing from the South Easterly direction instead of from up north easterly.
