Finished today- my twist on the classic American Folding Hunter. The final picture in the series shows the knife that inspired it. Basically copied by Mark I Eyeball. The second to the last shows the differential tempering on the O-1 tool steel blade before final finishing. Yes, I am that much of a freak. Bolsters are brass, liners are nickel silver, scales are antler. The Spey blade is 4 inches. The handle is 5-/4 inches. I omitted the second bolster on either side and used round-headed rivets to give it a touch of european flair. This is a large but relatively flat knife- max. thickness is 1/2 inch. Very comfortable in the hand. The blade does not lock in the open position, but the sturdy back spring holds it securely open in normal use. Hunting season is coming up, and this is a knife made to be carried and used, not a showpiece. It is for sale. PM for price, serious inquiries only, please.
