It is a bus drivers greatest fear to be in an accident with children on board, they drive with peoples trust that their children will be kept from harm. People often forget that larger vehicles needs more time to come to a stop and if it has a full bus of say 40 children weighing an average 100 lbs that is an extra 4000 lbs of mass going down a road. When a light changes from green to yellow a driver has to make a quick decision deciding if its safe to come to a stop or keep going to prevent the children on board from being thrown against the back of seats. Please understand its not easy being in their shoes with careless drivers, kids distracting, while trying to obey the laws, rules, and regulations that a normal driver does not encounter.
