First United Methodist Church of Oviedo - Military Support Team Prayer Vigil for 2014 Fallen Floridians Memorial Cross Tribute On Friday, May 16, at 6:30 PM, the Military Support Team of the First United Methodist Church of Oviedo in cooperation with other area churches will host a prayer vigil at The Lawton House, 200 West Broadway, Oviedo, FL, to mark the arrival of The Fallen Floridians Memorial Cross Tribute. It is our hope that we can have someone to pray at each of the 380+ crosses which represents a Florida soldier who has made the ultimate sacrifice in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The event will also be marked by the laying of wreaths at each cross by Chloe MacFarlane whose own father died in Afghanistan in 2012, and she will be assisted by area Girl Scouts. This act of honoring these Fallen was started last year by her brother, Conner, who placed the wreaths on Memorial Day as his Eagle Scout project in honor of their father.
